                            Samantha Alawar

 Samantha Alawar is the wedding and events manager at North Raleigh Florist. Samantha started in the floral industry at a young age and almost 15 years later she still loves the industry! Through floral education classes she has expanded her knowledge of designs and floral industry trends and is very passionate about expanding her floral knowledge through continued education and regularly attends floral design workshops and classes. In 2011, Samantha won The Wake County Florist Associations Designer of the Year competition and has since taught public design workshops and trained and coached floral designers in everyday and competition designs. As a part of North Raleigh Florist, Samantha has competed at the NC State Fair and won many ribbons with bridal bouquets, sympathy pieces and surprise categories. With a full design staff for weddings, Samantha supervises and oversees all aspects of the weddings from consult to wedding day.

Janice Cutler

 Janice Cutler began her education at Siena College in Loudonville, NY. She received a B.S. in Marketing/Management and International Studies with a concentration in German. She graduated in 1990 at which point she worked in the Marketing and Survey Research field with companies such as SavaTree, IBM, and the Research Triangle Institute. Soon her interests turned to Horticulture and she enrolled in a program at North Carolina State University, while working at Homewood Nursery. In November of 1995, Janice began working at Montgomery’s Florist and in the Spring of 1996 became a certified Floral Designer by the Southeast Florida School of Floral Design. In October of 1996 she became the new owner of Montgomery’s Florist and successfully ran the company until 2001 at which point she decided to sell the business and focus on raising her children. In July 2007, Montgomery’s Florist had closed their doors and Janice noticed the space was available. After spending the last seven years raising her two beautiful daughters she decided to return to the career which she loves. By November 2007, the florist doors in the Celebration Shopping Center reopened as North Raleigh Florist. Janice and the staff stay current with design trends and techniques. She encourages everyone to always keep learning and to share their knowledge and experience with one another. She and her staff continue to grow in the field of design through industry classes, design competitions and hands-on workshops. She has served several terms on the board of the Wake County Florist Association, the BLC (Business Leader's Club), Membership Chair and Communications Chair on the board of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners), and Chair of the Wake County Business Alliance Committee for the Mt. Vernon Middle School. Janice has a great passion for the floral industry and strongly believes in long-term relationships. She strives to help every customer express themselves perfectly for each occasion.

North Raleigh Florist has an exceptional wedding and event team with over 95 years of combined experience. Our design team consists of Warren Pusak, Teresa Underwood, Betsy Isaacs, Samantha Leatherwood, Teresa Hunt and Bethany Downs.

Warren Pusak is our head designer with over 30 years in the floral industry. Warren is no stranger to wedding and events and specializes in cascade bouquets, large wedding and event arrangements and wedding setups.

Teresa Underwood is a very talented designer with over 25 years experience and specializes in large wedding and event arrangements and ceremony decorations.

Betsy Isaacs is a North Carolina Professional Florist (NCCPF) Certified designer with over 7 years experience. Betsy specializes in silks, tabletop designs, corsages and wedding setups.

Samantha Leatherwood has 2 years of design experience and was a runner up at the 2013 wake county designer of the year competition. Samantha specializes in handties bridal bouquets, table top designs, ceremony decorations and setup.

Teresa Hunt has been in the floral industry since the early 80's and is North Raleigh Florists general manager. Teresa specializes in corsages and helps with coordination delivery and setup.

Bethany Downs is one of our newest staff members, who has a niche for design. Bethany has been with our design team for a year and a half and specializes in boutonierres, corsages, table top designs and wedding setup.

Charles Harris has been with North Raleigh Florist for over six years and specializes in wedding delivery and setup. We take pride in all our staff members, and know that you will be happy with our services.

Each staff member takes personal responsibility and ownership over different aspects of your wedding and takes direction from the wedding and event manager to ensure your wedding exceeds your expectations.
